FINO & surrogate help couple become parents

Good Morning America featured the incredible story of two women, formerly strangers, now bonded for life. Kelly Taylor Savant and her husband, Kyle, tried to conceive for for years unsuccessfully, leading to miscarriages, failed in vitro fertilization (IVF), intrauterine insemination (IUI) and other surgeries, all in hopes of growing their family.

After weighing their options and consulting with multiple doctors, the Savants started exploring gestational surrogacy. At first they were unsure where to start, until Kelly came across a Facebook post by Jasmine Johnson Isaac, a nurse and mother of four.

The Savants and the Isaacs met for dinner and realized that it was a great fit for both families. With help from attorneys, they agreed to team up. In April 2021, the first embryo transfer was completed, but Isaac did not become pregnant.

After almost giving up, the two women decided to try the transfer process once more, choosing Dr. Warren “Jay” Huber III of The Fertility Institute of New Orleans for the procedure. Once Isaac received the news that she was pregnant in the summer of 2021, both couples celebrated. Baby Ainsley Rain Savant was born on February 14, 2022.

As for baby Ainsley’s name, Savant said, “We wanted to use the name Rain as a middle name just to signify the rainbow after the storm. … It’s the blessing after all of the devastation.” A rainbow baby is a term often used for a baby born after a mother suffers a miscarriage, stillbirth or loss of an infant.
