Each individual will have their own responses to fertility medication. Some patients have noted medication side effects, such as:

• Headaches
• Irritability
• Nausea
• Bloating
• Blurry vision
• Hot flashes

When prescribing fertility medications, our specialists will keep you and your body’s response closely monitored. We’ll also track follicle growth to determine the best time to harvest or fertilize eggs.

The process of stimulating the ovaries can increase the risk of a multiples pregnancy. If you conceive multiples, it can create a high-risk pregnancy and birth. Our specialists follow strict guidelines to avoid a multiples pregnancy, and we’ll review the risks with you prior to your treatment.

Ovarian Hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) is a rare but serious side effect of fertility medications. Symptoms of OHSS may include:

• Rapid weight gain
• Severe abdominal pain
• Severe nausea and vomiting
• Blood clots
• Shortness of breath
