Genetic Testing and Counseling
It is usually recommended today for both male and female patients to undergo genetic testing prior to trying to conceive. At The Fertility Institute, we believe genetic testing and counseling are a crucial part of fertility services to help parents-to-be avoid passing certain disorders onto their children.
Genetic Carrier Screening
Genetic carrier screenings are performed prior to pregnancy to better understand a couple’s chance of passing down certain genetic conditions. We offer genetic screening for both male and female partners during new patient consultations. Based on your results, we can recommend additional testing throughout your fertility treatment.

Pre-Implantation Genetic Testing
Preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) is typically performed during IVF before an embryo is implanted into the uterus. PGT-A and PGT-M are two types of PGT that evaluate an embryo’s chromosomes and genetic mutations. We may recommend one or both types of PGT testing based on the results of your and your partner’s genetic screening, your medical history, and other factors.
