Ovulation Induction
Am I a Candidate for OI?
Many of the patients we care for at the Fertility Institute will undergo ovulation induction (OI) during their fertility treatments. This is an important step as we work toward a successful pregnancy, as it increases the number of eggs produced at one time.
You may be a good candidate for OI if:
- You and your partner have had difficulty conceiving on your own
- A male partner who experiences several infertility factors due to low sperm count or motility
- A female partner who experienced unreceptive cervical mucus, which blocks sperm from entering the uterus
- Women who have chronic conditions, such as endometriosis
- Women with abnormalities of their reproductive organs
- Other forms of fertility treatments have been unsuccessful
Ovarian induction and stimulation are considered the first step in many fertility treatments, such as IVF and IUI. Our specialists may recommend this treatment if you have experienced unexplained infertility. Fertility treatments can help bypass any areas of the reproductive tract that may be causing difficulty with conceiving. Additionally, if other fertility treatments have been unsuccessful, we may recommend ovulation induction to increase the chances of pregnancy.
Our fertility specialists have helped many couples, single individuals, and LGBTQ+ individuals conceive through the use of different fertility treatments. To learn more about OI and determine if you’re a candidate, we encourage you to schedule a new patient consultation with us today!
