Louisiana’s first fertility clinic – 19,000 pregnancies & counting

At The Fertility Institute of New Orleans

Our fertility doctors work closely with patients to understand their individual cases and situations, becoming partners and friends throughout the process. It is their mission to educate patients and work together to uncover the unknowns in each unique infertility case.

We don’t try to prove our expertise, we work to build relationships.

Our fertility doctors use a whole-body approach to solutions: Decisions are made not solely on biology, but also on emotions, finances and even spirituality.

A history of experience, innovation and leadership

Dr. Richard Dickey, the medical director and founder of The Fertility Institute, started the clinic in 1976, dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of infertility. Ours was one of the first private fertility clinics in the country.

Recognized as a pioneer in the field of infertility treatments, The Fertility Institute has accomplished many firsts, including:

  • First IVF baby born in the Gulf South States in 1984.
  • First intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) birth in the South Gulf in 1995.
  • First successful IVF pregnancy in a woman aged 44+ in the United States.
  • First frozen embryo program in the Gulf South.
