About Dr. Warren “Jay” Huber
Dr. Warren “Jay” Huber chose this field of medicine because he loves the subject material and staying at the forefront of the specialty. He appreciates that the embryology lab allows a “bench to bedside” connection, meaning lab research is employed to directly improve a patient’s care. He loves helping couples build their families, and says, “Fertility medicine is a hobby that I am happy to get paid for.”
Dr. Huber believes that while the outcomes are important, he focuses just as much on the patient’s experience, and every touch is important. He also believes all patient decisions should be based on financial, emotional and biological factors to involve the whole person.
He is board certified in OB-GYN and board eligible in reproductive endocrinology & infertility (REI). Dr. Huber specializes in robotic and laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgery, as well as hysteroscopic surgery, and is Intuitive da Vinci robotic certified. He is also a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and the Society for Reproductive Surgeons. His areas of focus are in disorders of the reproductive endocrine axis impacting fertility. He also performs minimally invasive (robotic, hysteroscopic, laparoscopic) gynecologic surgery and advanced reproductive technologies, including in vitro fertilization (IVF), ovulation induction and other infertility treatments.
Dr. Huber’s research over the years has led to several publications in peer-reviewed journals and abstracts presented at various meetings. His research interests are in endometrial preparation and the role that the maternal immune system plays in implantation/placentation.
Approach to treatment
Dr, Huber enjoys taking care of couples suffering from infertility with a cutting-edge, empathetic, targeted approach to help them build their family.
“I listen to a couple’s questions and concerns and I try to explain our complex workup and treatment plan to patients on a level that they can easily understand, so that we can make decisions together.”
Dr. Huber is a firm believer that treatments aren’t “one-size-fits-all” but should be as unique as the patient. His overall approach is, “We fix it or we go around it.”
On a personal note
Dr. Huber was born and raised in New Orleans, where he graduated high school and completed his residency and fellowship.
His mother, Cyndy Huber, works in The Fertility Institute lab as a nurse in the IVF center.
On the weekends (when he is not in the office), Dr. Huber loves to go on walks/runs with his wife, coaching his daughter’s athletic teams, camping, fishing and reading.
Dr. Huber enjoys spending time with his family.
