Our 200th Baby Born Via Gamete Intrafallopian Transfer Has Twins

FINO’s 200th baby conceived through gamete intrafallopian transfer welcomes twin daughters years later

Leta Fletcher and her husband encountered several obstacles in their fertility journey. After Leta suffered two miscarriages and endometriosis, she and her husband sought help from the specialists at The Fertility Institute of New Orleans (FINO). Through gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT), Leta was overjoyed to learn she was pregnant. This state-of-the-art technology in the late ’80s brought them their daughter, Julie, the 200th baby born with the help of FINO.

Thirty-two years later, this fertility journey came full circle when Julie and her husband welcome twin girls into the world.

Julie entered the world in style. She received a black-tie party at the Crowne Plaza. Doctors from across America came to celebrate her birth.

Julie says she is thankful her mother took action with her fertility, ultimately leading to the birth of her own daughters Fletcher Ann and June. She says the twin girls will grow up knowing the story of their grandmother’s fighting spirit and FINO’s dedication to building Leta’s family.
